Over 25 Years of "Paying it Forward"

Hello. I am Nobody. My friends know me as Mara. I began this idea over 25 years ago because I was tired of hearing that nodody cares. So I became Nodody, and I cared.

Back in the early eighties I met a lot of young men who were Vietnam Vets. I am sad to say that few of them were what one would say was , "okay". Some refused to return to thier wives just because they couldn't. I would send those wives roses on thier annirversaries. From that I began bringing roses into bars and giving them away to those who seemed to need them. I had friends and thier children that did the same to help spread the smiles. When we were asked who were and why we were doing this the answer was, "Nodody. Sometime you'll be in a possition to do something to make someone smile... Pay it forward".

As time went on the "deeds" grew. Sometimes it would be paying for gas for someone stranded at the pump, or donating items a family needed with a card "From Nobody, because Nobody cares".

 

Updates

Today there's more involved. I get people the information and contacts they need for what ever they need. Over thee years I have met a lot of people and made "friends". Perhaps some of them are more contacts but it enables me to take an at times desperate situation and find hope. That's why I am the CFO. I do not get paid. The dream that took me 25 years to build wouldn't be credible if these services were offered for a fee. 

Normally what I do is best done without "tooting ones own horn", so having a web site is hard for me. But I have been asked to have a place that can get more information out to more people so I I am trying this. I hope to recruit someone to take care of it and post infpormation. Here's my first stab. Notifying Visitors of Site Enhancements

Another idea for my home page's text is notifying visitors about the enhancements I put on my site. For example, I want visitors to sign my guestbook or fill out my survey Form E-mailer to answer questions about my site, my business, or my site's topic.
